1. Discovery & Consultation
We start by listening—really listening—to your goals, ideas, and concerns. During this initial consultation, we learn about your lifestyle, site, and budget. We also do our due diligence to uncover any property limitations or opportunities, and we conduct a feasibility study to make sure your vision aligns with your budget. You’ll also get a clear explanation of how our design-build model works, so you know what to expect from the start.
2. Design Development
Next, we move into conceptual design. You’ll work closely with our in-house design Team to explore layout options, finishes, energy performance goals, and more. We use tactile samples and 3D modeling to help you feel what the final build will be like—so you can move forward with confidence. Our curated showroom features sustainable and durable products, thoughtfully selected so you don’t have to second-guess your choices.
3. Project Proposal
Once a design direction is established, we provide a detailed proposal outlining scope, timeline, and cost. You’re always welcome to ask for options—we’re happy to explore different paths that support your goals. As a worker-owned company, we value honesty and equity in our pricing, and we strive to help you achieve your project goals while meeting your budget.
4. Build Phase
Here’s where it all comes to life. Our experienced construction crew ensures every detail is built with care. We’re big believers in regular check-ins, clean worksites, and minimizing disruption to your daily life.
5. Final Walkthrough & Beyond
Once construction wraps, we walk through every detail with you to ensure it meets your expectations. Every A1DesignBuild project includes a five-year warranty, and we check in annually to make sure nothing gets overlooked.
